This Milwaukee-based "Total Experience Design" firm brings creativity and integrity to everything they do. In the past, Kahler Slater staffers have been referred to as kumquats — talented people who are a little bit different. Employees are kept up-to-speed on important projects with Creativity Fire Drills and "Under Construction" walls in their offices. While the economy has been rough on all architects and interior designers, Kahler Slater found creative solutions like coordinating a Dining Etiquette seminar and also gathering to watch TEDTalks online as inexpensive outlets for professional development. Despite some staff and salary reductions since 2008, Kahler Slater has honored a commitment to return salaries to pre-recession levels for all non-principals, and has now exceeded that goal. With fun wellness initiatives, casual office events that regularly take place at 4 PM, and philanthropy initiatives that get employees out and active in the community, Kahler Slater remains a great place for employees.

Kahler Slater employees and their family members volunteer at a 2011 food sort for the Hunger Task Force.
