"When you join the company, you are made to feel welcome" is an understatement at David Weekley Homes. From day one, new Team Members are welcomed into the family-like work environment and are made to feel part of the larger team. Standing ovations, building a house made of LEGOS, and a team dinner are just a few examples of what employees experience during the New Team Member Orientation called "Weekley 101."
During this comprehensive two-day "culture class" (held 3-4 times per month), new hires participate in team building activities with team members from all 16 locations and are addressed by the Chairman of the Board, David Weekley himself about the company's Purpose, Values and Vision.
The program is designed to introduce new hires to the company's history and vision while providing the opportunity for them to experience the strong sense of family that is central to this construction and real estate firm's unique culture.
"From day one I always felt welcome and wanted. On the second day of my Weekley 101 training, everyone in the class was applauded by employees who all stopped their work and ate lunch with us." - David Weekley Homes employee |
