Suzanne M. Johnson Vickberg, PhD, is a Senior Consultant and the Assessment Practice Lead at the Great Place to Work® Institute, Inc., which each year evaluates and selects the companies to be recognized on Fortune Magazine’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For. Suzanne works with leaders to create and sustain great workplaces – in organizations that have already reached greatness in this regard, and in those that aspire to do so.

She has worked with organizations in a variety of industries including healthcare, professional and financial services, technology, media and publishing, not-for-profit, energy and utilities, retail, manufacturing, and consumer products. Recent clients include Discovery Communications, PHH Mortgage, Minitab, Daimler Financial, Bovis Lend Lease, World Wildlife Fund, and Acuity Brands Lighting.
Among Suzanne’s specialty areas are workplace assessment and analysis. She also has expertise in work-life balance practices and programs in great workplaces. Prior to joining the Institute Suzanne was the Director of Change Initiatives at one of the Institute’s clients, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc., where she was employed for six years. In her role at Planned Parenthood Suzanne led the organization’s effort to become one of the 10 best places to work and volunteer. She guided the national office and it’s independent affiliates through the process of assessing their varied workplaces using the Great Place to Work® Institute’s Trust Index©, and identifying strategies for transformation.
Suzanne holds a PhD in Social-Personality Psychology from the Graduate Center at the City University of New York, and an MBA in Management and Organizational Behavior from the Stern School of Business at New York University. She was born and raised in Minnesota, and attended college at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She currently lives in Maplewood, New Jersey with her husband, Tim, and their two children, August (age 3) and Sinikka (age 1). |
