Lisa Ratner
Client Relationship Lead
As a Client Relationship Lead, Lisa builds strong relationships with clients to ensure their experience with the Institute is a valuable one and positively impacts their workplace culture. Lisa joined the Institute in 2003 as a member of the Best Companies Team and during her tenure has been intimately involved with the selection process for both the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For® and the Best Small & Medium Companies to Work For rankings. Her depth of knowledge of the Institute's products and services enables her to work closely with organizations to define and scope an engagement that will best meet their unique needs and business goals - and ultimately help them improve their workplace culture. Prior to joining the Institute, Lisa managed complex client accounts while working for several small professional service firms specializing in graphic design, online media, strategic planning and branding. Lisa also has firsthand experience as an employee of a best company, Patagonia, Inc., based in Ventura, California, where she developed a keen insight and understanding of what it 'feels like' to work for a best company from the employee perspective. This unique experience - and understanding that trusting relationships are what makes a company great - translates into the ongoing relationships Lisa has cultivated with hundreds of companies who engage with Great Place to Work® Institute. Lisa received her bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont. She has also completed creative writing and editing coursework through UC Berkeley Extension in San Francisco, California. You may also see Lisa on the weekends donning an orange lab coat at the California Academy of Sciences, where she is an active volunteer docent.
