About Applying to Our Lists

List Application and Evaluation Process

Leveraging our 25 years of workplace culture insight, we help support you in your efforts to improve your workplace culture and set your business apart from your competitors. That’s why our Best Companies lists are much more than publicity and rankings. The reports and feedback they generate provide practical knowledge and tools to help you transform your workplace.

In addition to our gold-standard recognition and publicity, our best companies lists provide the raw material for reports that deliver:

  • Employee trust and engagement measures and benchmarks
  • Workplace culture assessment
  • Best practices in hiring, two-way communication, employee development, work-life balance, recognition and more

The information below includes important deadlines and steps to participate in one of our 2012/2013 Best Companies List programs.

If you have any questions about the list programs, please contact the Best Companies Team at: (415) 503-1234 ext. 390 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

We distribute our Trust Index© Employee Survey either on-line or in paper format. (Note that all employee surveys are completely anonymous.) You submit information about your organization’s programs and policies through our Culture Audit©. Approximately, two-thirds of your results are based on the Trust Index© employee survey and one-third on the Culture Audit©.

STEP 4: FEEDBACK

Most organizations decide to use the benchmarks, analysis and survey results generated through this assessment process to measure the health and success of their workplace and pinpoint steps to take that will help them improve their culture and business results. The Trust Index© Feedback Report and other survey results can be provided within weeks of the survey closing.

STEP 5: RESULTS AND AWARDS

While not all applicants find themselves on a list, all organizations have access to the Feedback Report and other survey results. Successful organizations will be notified if they are recognized as a Best Company and which media partner will be publishing the list. In many countries, recognition also is available through prestigious gala awards ceremonies and through Best Companies-specific executive events, conferences, and presentations.
