| September | Companies will be notified by Great Place to Work® Institute, Inc. (GPTW) if they have been accepted for participation in the survey and selection process. |
| September | To confirm participation in the survey and selection process, companies MUST submit Administrative Fee to GPTW. |
| Early Oct | Receive detailed instructions from GPTW on all steps of the survey process, including: (1) Employee Survey Communications Guidelines, (2) How to select a random sample of employees (if company has more than 300 U.S. employees), (3) How to submit a CEO letter for approval (4) How to complete the Employee Survey Distribution Questionnaire. |
| Mid-Oct | Receive instructions on how to complete and submit the Great Place to Work® Culture Audit© questionnaire – Parts I and II and supplementary materials. |
| Mid-Oct | Receive Great Place to Work® Trust Index© (employee surveys) from GPTW. Paper version of the survey will include postage-paid envelopes. |
| Mid-Oct | Prepare CEO letter for approval by GPTW prior to employee survey distribution, per instructions provided in early October. |
| Mid-Oct | Companies with more than 300 U.S. employees will select a random sample of regular full- and part-time employees per instructions provided in early October. |
| Late-Oct | Depending on which version of the survey companies choose to administer to employees, companies will EITHER (1) Distribute a paper version of the employee survey with postage-paid envelopes to employees OR (2) Employees will be invited by GPTW via email to take the online version of the survey. |
| Early Nov | Deadline for employees to return completed survey (employees must return this independently). |
| Early Nov | Complete Employee Survey Distribution Questionnaire for review by GPTW. |
| Late Nov | Complete Great Place to Work® Culture Audit© and ship physical supplementary materials to GPTW for review and evaluation. |
| Ongoing | If applicable, receive follow-up questions from GPTW about your Culture Audit© submission. |
| Mid-May | All companies notified as to whether or not they have made the list. |
| Late June | "Best Small & Medium Companies to Work for in America" list announced. |
| Late June/Early July | Receive complimentary Feedback Report with employee survey results and detailed information about options to purchase additional Best Companies Reports & Services from GPTW. |
