The Trust Index©

The Great Place to Work® Trust Index© is an employee survey tool that measures the level of trust, pride, and camaraderie within your workplace. Employee responses to this instrument comprise the majority of an organization's score for all of our Best Companies lists. We make this instrument available to accepted applicants for any of our Best Companies lists during the employee survey portion of the application process.

The information that follows will provide you with a sense of the nature of the survey.

The Trust Index©:

  • Consists of 57 statements that cover credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie - the five dimensions that correspond with the Great Place to Work® Model©.
  • The 57 positively worded statements fall into one of the five dimensions of the Model©. Some sample statements follow:

Credibility
Management keeps me informed about important issues and changes. People around here are given a lot of responsibility.

Respect
Management involves people in decisions that affect their jobs or work environment. I am offered training and development to further myself professionally.

  • Contains two open-ended questions which allow employees to express, in their own words, what makes their company great and what could be done to improve the work place.
  • Takes just 15 minutes for employees to complete

How It Works

What You Get

All organizations who participate in the process (regardless if chosen for the list) will receive a complementary feedback report which contains the following information:

  • Summary scores of how your employees responded to each of the 57 statements
  • Scores presented by various demographic options (job type, gender, age category, tenure, racial/ethnic identity & work status)
"It is a wonderful sense of family that is felt throughout the company. At our last leadership conference everyone came together professionally and socially to learn from one another and about one another. Each person, whether the CEO or the part-time mailroom person was recognized for his/her accomplishments. When a person was recognized everyone celebrated. It takes each of us to make this company successful and we all share that philosophy."
