Frequently Asked Questions
Who’s eligible for the Best Workplaces list?
All U.S. companies that are Great Place to Work-Certified with 10 or more employees. Once Certified, you’ll automatically be considered for all Best Workplaces lists published while your Certification is valid.
How long does the Certification process take?
The Certification process take approximately 8 hours to complete and generally spans 4 weeks from start to finish.
How much does it cost to get certified?
Great Place to Work® Certification is available for as little as $995. If you’re looking to gain more insight through the Certification process, packages with additional benefits and reporting are available. All packages include Best Workplaces eligibility. Compare packages side-by-side.
What happens if I don't meet the Certification threshold?
While this isn't the result you hope for, you've still made substantial effort towards improving your employee experience simply by going through the Certification process. Some companies sign-up knowing they may not hit that 70% rating. Instead, they focus on reviewing the results and valuable insights within their report, and then acting on those findings to achieve Certification next time.
Also, we keep your Certification results completely confidential — we never disclose the names of companies who participate in the process but don't become Certified.
How are Best Workplaces selected?
We select winners of our Best Workplaces lists primarily based on employees' responses to our industry-defining Trust Index© Survey, taken as part of Great Place to Work® Certification. Results from the survey are highly reliable, having a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of 5% or less. Depending on the specific list, we also factor in Culture Brief© and Culture Audit© responses, gathered as part of the Certification process.
