How Hilton Creates a ‘Human Experience’ in the Workplace

Best Workplaces Elements of Company Culture Employee Experience

Lessons from a perennial Best Workplace.

Many companies talk about their values, but what separates the Best Workplaces from the rest is what happens when unexpected events and financial realities challenge those values.

At Hilton, that challenge became very real in 2020. When the COVID-19 pandemic shut down travel and emptied out hotels (and revenue), the company responded by opening up over 1 million rooms so healthcare workers had a place to sleep between shifts.

In this discussion from the 2022 Great Place To Work® For All Summit™, Hilton’s Laura Fuentes, EVP & chief human resources offer, sat down with Michael C. Bush, CEO at Great Place to Work, to illuminate the culture and values that drive decisions like that as they strive to take care of both guests and team members.

In this video:
  • Hilton’s three components of a human experience at work
  • What Laura focuses on as Hilton heads into the current economic uncertainty
