Work In Progress: How Reddit Creates a Culture of Belonging

Belonging Best Workplaces DEIB Employee Experience

This week on Work in Progress, we learn how Internet community icon Reddit has created an inclusive workplace culture—so much so that it recently earned a place on the Best Workplaces for Millennials™ list.

This episode also features our colleague Claire Hastwell. Claire, Great Place To Works’ Content Marketing Manager, recently wrote a pair of articles about the Best Workplaces for Millennials, including a feature on Reddit. Claire noticed that Reddit employees say things about their workplace such as:

  • “Everyone is encouraged to be themselves.”
  • “You can be your quirky, weird, individual self.”
  • There’s an “effort to make everyone feel like they belong.”

Watch this episode to hear Claire interview Nellie Peshkov, VP of People & Culture at Reddit. Nellie and Claire discuss the importance of Reddit’s transparency, its mission and its Employee Resource and Interest Groups.
